The Physics of Stucco
Stucco is rigid. But your house moves. It expands when hot and contracts when cold. If you put a rigid paint (cheap acrylic) on a moving house, the paint cracks. Micro-cracks appear, water enters, and mold grows behind the paint.
The Hero: Elastomeric Paint

Elastomeric paint can stretch up to 300% of its original size without breaking. It acts like a rubber skin over your home. When a hairline crack opens in the stucco due to thermal expansion, the paint stretches over it, keeping the seal watertight.

Two Coats vs. "Covering"
Some contractors try to save money by applying one heavy coat to "cover" the old color. This is wrong.
Coat 1 (The Anchor): Must penetrate and seal the porous surface.
Coat 2 (The Armor): Provides the uniform thickness needed to resist UV rays and
wind-driven rain.

Dos Capas vs. "Cubrir"
